This is an excerpt from the show I did in 2021 called ‘Stop the world I want to get off, my top ten reasons why I want to leave the planet’. I wrote this poem when trying to match odd socks and thinking about the futility of my time wasted on matching socks. Then I thought about how it was a good analogy for how we are all trying to fit in in some way, but only because someone else has said ordained what it means to fit in.
