Odd socks
This is an excerpt from the show I did in 2021 called ‘Stop the world I want to get off, my top ten reasons why I want to leave the planet’.
I wrote this poem when trying to match odd socks and thinking about the futility of my time wasted on matching socks. Then I thought about how it was a good analogy for how we are all trying to fit in in some way, but only because someone else has said ordained what it means to fit in.
So this poem dreams of a world where all our socks don’t need to match and what it would be like if we just allowed each other to be exactly who we are.
