Ohh I loved this, Jacky, thank you so much for sharing your and your son's story. I'm so happy that he is happy and confident. I left school feeling very stupid and like I would never be good at anything, and that's the case for so many! And it's something I'm so wary of with my two moving through primary school now - twins with such different abilities, interests and challenges.

Thanks Jen! I'm sorry to hear that - look at your now! I think that when we help our children identify what strengths they've used to get through the day, and praise those it can be so helpful. We all have our strengths - whether that is the way we can persevere or the way we speak up for others, or our ability to appreciate beauty - they are all strengths! It seems to be a given that kids get compared to each other, something I'm always acutely aware of and try to counteract because as we know comparison is the thief of joy! Must be very hard with twins, am sure they are on the receiving end of so much comparison by well meaning folk even though, like you say, such different abilities, interests and challenges!
