The New Year is knocking at the door and it’s often a time that invites reflection and commitment to trying out new ways of living in order to feel/look/love/serve better. All of these efforts are underpinned by one of my favourite emotions, hope.
Hope and fear cannot occupy the same space at the same time.
Invite one to stay.
Maya Angelou
I have a relentless sense of hope. I’d say relentless is the right word for it because it has dragged me out of many a cul-de-sac and juggernaut-smash situation that life has served up to me.
We have a choice.
We can lean more to hope and faith, or more to fear.
When we cultivate hope, we have a fighting chance. Don’t you think that hope is needed now more than ever as we live in such fractious and fractured times?
I start from where I am today
And tomorrow,
Well that’s another day,
For I can only work with what I’ve got
And let time tell
If that’s enough to not,
But it’s all I have,
So I’ll go from here,
I’ll lean more to faith
And less to fear.
Even when it’s
With a heavy heart
Let me find a way
To make a start.
What are we hoping for in planning to lose the stone in weight, meditate every day, apply for a new job in the new year… or whatever it is that we may be thinking about changing in our life at this time of year?
More connection and belonging? A deeper sense of meaning and purpose in your life? A feeling of validation and accomplishment?
What if you could experience some of that in 2 hours?
For free.
I have such a love of hope that I have written a whole poetry writing workshop on it, where previous participants have experienced connection, a sense of liberation and accomplishment.
I’m reaching out to you especially if you are the coper. If you’re the one that is great in a crisis, holding it all together by the best way you know how.
The one everyone depends on.
But who do you depend on?
Where do you go to share when you’re scared, confused and frustrated about what’s going on and how you feel about it?
What if you gave yourself permission to have a space for you?
Whatever your plans are for the New Year, how about starting it off with this workshop for a guaranteed feel good factor?
Here is what previous participants have said about my workshops.
It exceeded my expectations. I loved the connection with the other attendees. Listening to each other was wonderful, learning together through Jacky’s guidance was powerful. Highly recommend. From a “I don’t write” person who has written poems! Fabulous!

Jacky’s course was amazing. Everybody should honour themselves the time to think and learn more about themselves in this very cleverly put together poetry writing group. Even if you have never written poetry before, its a great course to get your creative juices flowing and you may just end up surprising yourself with the poems and writing that flows with Jacky’s great guidance and questions.
Highly recommend!

Stop it, I’m blushing.
In this time together you’ll have the chance to:
Let go of your fears that are holding you back.
Identify and harness your distinctive strengths to nurture a flourishing sense of hope.
Craft your own personalized and empowering affirmation to use throughout the year.
The workshop will include poetry and writing exercises with a focus very much on the process of writing, and how it helps you to reframe your thoughts, process your feelings and move through to the new.
You do not have to share anything you write if you don’t want to.
Interested?
Come and join me for a liberating, creative time together to say ‘hell yeah’ to hope!
‘I wasn’t sure what to expect from the workshop and arrived feeling quite daunted. I absolutely loved it - such a nurturing, welcoming space Jacky created. It helped me to see I am creative and there are no rules - this is freeing.

That’s it for now,
‘Til next time!

What time is the workshop please and for how long ?
Hope is so important. It’s good to start the new year with hope. The poetry writing workshop sounds amazing. I just need to check our family calendar, but I definitely would like to attend.
